Laughter in Ladakh

Somewhere in India’s Department of Frontier Works resides a wit with a mission. The zany, sometimes bizarre and often hilarious collection of advisory road signs found on most mountain roads will raise a chuckle, or an eyebrow, from most travellers.   On a recent trip to Kashmir and Ladakh we collected a few more of these pearlers.

Better Mr Late than the late Mr.

Whiskey makes driving risky

Haste makes waste.

Caution and care make accidents rare

And the one that always gets a grin no matter how many times it pops up on a blind bend above some precipitous drop off…  ‘Slow down BEFORE go down’ and of course the classic ‘Go easy on my Curves’.
