Trip Grades – Active trips
Our active trip grades
We chose four trip grades to describe the level of ability, fitness and stamina each trip will demand.
- Easy trips are ideal for travellers who prefer a mix of active and passive activity and prefer treks
that don’t require too much exertion or especially lengthy sessions on the trail.
- Moderate trips require fitness and provide a physical challenge but no particular technical skill. On
some days there will be hills to trek or ride.
- Demanding trips involve long distances but not too much daily altitude loss-gain. They can involve river crossings and a few long days at altitudes above 3000m. These trips are well within the capabilities of most trekkers.
- Strenuous trips will tax your stamina and experience. They involve some long days and steep grades at
altitudes above 3500m plus light footwork on loose or slippery surfaces.
