Itinerary at a glance
Day 1 - Arrive Paro
Arrive in Paro where our representative will meet you and transfer to Hotel.
Day 2 - Hike to Tigers Nest
A full day walk to visit Tigers nest Monastery - Bhutan’s most popular cultural icon.
Day 3 - to Alpine Skyline
Today drive to the highest road pass in Bhutan (approx 4000 meters). Walk on the alpine skyline walk with stunning panoramic views of Paro and Haa Valley. Late pm drive to Thimphu
Day 4 - Thimphu
Full day today to visit Thimphu and experience the colourful annual Thimphu cultural festival.
Day 5 - Thimphu
Optional Trek to Tango/Cheri monastery through old growth sub alpine forests. Opportunity to view wildlife including mountain goats, Langurs (long tailed monkeys) and birds. Walking time approx 3.5 hours return
Day 6 - To Wangdue
Today set out for the 2 hour drive to Wangdue Eco Lodge. Along the way stop to make a short forest walk . Stop also at Punakha to visit some of the key local cultural sites.
Day 7 - To Phobjikha
Today a 2 hour drive eastward to reach Phobjikha. On arrival experience the festival in Phobjika monastery. Today we plan time also to walk and explore in the scenic Phobjikha valley.
Day 8 - To Yonkola
There is an early start this morning to witness the ‘tongdrel’ (unfurling of large painting of Guru). Drive eastwards to Yonkola and visit Trongsa along the way.
Day 9 - To Mongar
Make a full day excursion to Lhuntse today.. Visit Lhuntse Dzong perched high on a hill. Also visit Giant Guru statue. Evening drive back to Mongar.
Day 10 To Trashigang
There's a half day drive to Trashigang today in order to reach the eastern extent of the tour. Trashigang Dzong occupies an eyrie high above the historic Assam trade route and the district is both strategic and important as a gateway for Trade with India.
Day 11 - Trashigang
Today set out for a full day excursion to Radi village in the far north eastern corner of Bhutan. Radi is regarded as the ‘rice basket’ of Bhutan and plays an important role as a primary producing region..
Day 12 - Return to Yonkola
Get back on the road today for the drive back to Yonkola. The trip will take around 4 hours but there will be time along the way for rest breaks and a chance to stretch your legs
Day 13 - to Bumthang
Drive to Bumthang. Along the way we plan stops for short walks and rural visits.
Day 14 - Bumthang
Day visit to Tang valley. Visit local museum and walk in the valley.
Day 15 - to Paro
Morning in Bumthang and afternoon flight from Bumthang to Paro. (13.15 - 13.50).
Day 16 - Depart
Transfer to airport for departure flight
Arrive in Paro where our representative will meet you and transfer to Hotel.
