Anatolia Silk Route 2012

22 days :  commences Istanbul 9th May 2012

Explore scenic Eastern Anatolia with us on this touring style journey as we trace the western-most extension of the Silk Road. We commence at Ankara then wind our way through picturesque mountainscapes to the Black Sea coast where we visit the cliff hugging Sumela monastery and idyllic Ayder.   In the far east there are wildflowers and     stunning volcanic landscapes along the route to historic Ayni and beyond to Ararat and Van.  In south east Anatolia we   include Diyarbakir, Ufra and the biblical village of Harran.      No journey in Anatolia would be complete without a visit to ancient Antioch and spectacular Cappadocia.  We complete   our journey in Istanbul.
